Montepeloso is situated, in Tuscany, in the low hills of the Maremma region, about 10km from the sea. Winemaker Fabio Chiarelotto strives for a pure expression on the region, which is unique and unlike their neighbour's in the Chianti zone, over the hills.
An assemblage predominantly of Sangiovese with Malvasia Nera and Cabernet Sauvignon. A QUO is matured for 6 in barriques, most of which are pre-used, and then for 2 months in steel tank. A Quo is Montepeloso's fresh young high-flier. The wine, characterized by early accessibility, is made using grapes from the more recent plantings which already epitomize the distinctive qualities of Montepeloso.
